Who we are

Richard Bard

Mr. Bard has been involved in the acquisition and operation of a diverse group of private and publicly traded businesses over the last 30 years. He has typically taken an active role in operating the companies he invests in, often serving as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for a period of time. Mr. Bard has been involved in numerous community service and philanthropic activities. This included having served as the Chairman of Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He created the Bard Center for Entrepreneurship at the Business School of the University of Colorado at Denver. Mr. Bard received a B.S. in Engineering from Pennsylvania State University, earned an M.B.A. from Baruch College of CUNY, and he was bestowed Doctor of Humane Letters by the University of Colorado.

Bill Papariella

Bill is a seasoned senior executive within the aviation industry. Before co-founding Jet Edge International, he spent the previous six years working at NetJets, Marquis Jet, and Sentient. As senior vice president, Bill was responsible for advising and educating individuals and corporate clients on a variety of private aviation solutions including fractional ownership, jet card membership, charter and whole aircraft management. During his tenure in the private aviation industry, Bill’s efforts have consistently propelled his sales teams to #1 in total new business year over year.  Under his leadership Jet Edge has rapidly emerged as one of the leading sales, acquirers, and operators of luxury large cabin aircraft in the world.  Prior to being recruited into the aviation industry, Bill was a former Hollywood film executive and entrepreneur spearheading movie projects with A-list talent and major studios. Bill is a native of Pittsburgh, educated at Ohio University and is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO-WPO) - Beverly Hills Chapter.

David Erich
Executive Vice President – Corporate

Before joining Jet Edge, Erich spent 26 years at British Airways with senior executive experience in sales, marketing and operations.  He was Senior Vice President and GM of U.K. Customer Service and Operations, directing a staff of 6,000 and all aspects of the airline's UK ground operations at Heathrow, Gatwick and 12 UK airports.  Prior to this role, he was Senior Vice President Customer Service North America, responsible for all safety, security, property and ground operations at 25 airports in the US and Canada.  Erich managed the $250M rebuild of Terminal 7 at JFK, the only terminal on US soil operated by a foreign carrier. Following BA, he was Chief Operating Officer for Experient, an integrated meetings and event management company, directing and streamlining all aspects of the business, including the introduction of state-of-the-art IT for tradeshows.

Edward Frank
Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer

A highly respected veteran in the business aviation industry, Edward Frank brings extensive business, finance, and aviation management experience to Jet Edge. Ed previously served as Chief Executive Officer for a large, Los Angeles-based aircraft management and charter company, where he directed the company’s multi-national business operations and led the acquisition of ACM Aviation. Under Ed’s leadership, the company obtained the prestigious Wyvern Wingman status, ARGUS Platinum rating, and IS-BAO Stage II registration, placing the company with an elite group of operators, including Jet Edge. Prior to beginning his career in business aviation, Ed served as Vice President and Chief Finance Officer for a multi-national logistics company, and as Vice President for a major Los Angeles bank. Ed is a Certified Management Accountant and holds an M.B.A. in Finance and Information Systems from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California.

Geoff Makely
Executive Vice President and General Manager

Geoff Makely directly oversees the company’s worldwide charter business and manages the company’s charter sales and dispatch teams. In addition, Mr. Makely plays an integral role in all aspects of the companies’ aircraft management goals. Mr. Makely’s previous 20 years in aviation include serving as a director of flight control as well as executive charter sales positions. Mr. Makely has a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from Florida Institute of Technology and has earned a reputation for his integrity, understanding clients’ needs, providing sound management, and fostering long-lasting professional relationships.

John Sell
Senior Vice President of Flight Operations

John Sell serves as the Senior Vice President of Flight Operations and oversees all areas of worldwide flight operations for the Jet Edge fleet.  John has over 20 years of aviation experience with an extensive background in management, including private and fractional ownership and commercial on-demand flight operations. His previous duties include serving as Director of Flight Operations for Flexjet, FAR Part 135 Chief Pilot for Million Air Dallas, and Captain for United States Steel Corporation. John has also served as a Flight Instructor, Check Airman in the Gulfstream G1159, and FAA Pilot Proficiency Examiner in the Hawker HS-125. John holds an Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with ratings in multiple aircraft types including Cessna Citation, Hawker, Dassault Falcon Jet, and Gulfstream aircraft with worldwide operational experience. John attended both Pennsylvania State University and The University of North Texas and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.

Jim Potter
Chief Pilot

Jim brings to Jet Edge 30 years of global Gulfstream Series operating experience. Jim has accumulated over 24,000 hours of flight time, with more than 16,000 of those hours in Gulfstream Aircraft, and is currently an FAA-certified check airman for Jet Edge. He’s an expert in tracking, understanding and addressing the operating idiosyncrasies of each aircraft and training flight crews to achieve the highest level of safety and cockpit standards.

Adam Parnes
Director of Maintenance

Adam is responsible for the day-to-day operations of scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and avionics for the Part 135 Maintenance Department of Jet Edge International. After eight years of active duty as an Avionics Communications Equipment Repairer in the U.S. Army, Adam worked as an Avionics Technician at the Gulfstream Aerospace Service Center in Savannah, Georgia. Furthering his success with Gulfstream Aircraft, Adam joined the government’s C37 Military Special Air Missions in 2000, and worked with Gulfstream V and 550 aircraft. Prior to joining Jet Edge International, he spent the previous seven years overseeing the Part 135 and 145 certificates of Elite Aviation, Jet Direct Aviation, JetCorp Technical Services, and The Air Group. Adam is a native of Brooklyn, NY and has been educated at Flight Safety International.

Lynn Sloan
Director of Operations

Lynn brings to Jet Edge over 34 years of corporate aviation experience. He has held the director of safety, chief pilot and director of training positions for Part 135 companies, amassing an extensive knowledge of the FAR’s and the requirements of the FAA. As a chief pilot for over 25 years, he has hired and trained hundreds of pilots in the Part 135 rules. Mr. Sloan has over 11,000 accident and incident-free flight hours in Gulfstream, Sabreliner, Learjet and King Air aircraft. With his background, Lynn is well-equipped to ensure our pilots are the best and the customer is in the safest of hands.
